SYNOPSIS
The story is passed in Spain during the Napoleonic occupation. Paquita was created at the Paris Opera on April 1, 1846 by Joseph Mazilier and Paul Foucher, with music by Édouard Deldevez and Ludwig Minkus.
Act II
General dHervilly promotes a ball in which are present the governor of Saragoza Don Lopez de Mendoza and his sister Serafina, who was engaged to Lucien, military officers accompanied by their respective ladies, as well as high personalities of Saragoza. Suddenly Lucien appears accompanied by Paquita! He reports that he suffered an attack and Paquita saved him from death. Paquita denounces the governor as the mastermind of the assassination of Lucien, who is arrested immediately. Lucien asks for Paquita’s hand in marriage!
