The Academic Tuna of the University of the Azores presents the III Inventio – International Tuna Festival.
With the theme “Festival da Canção”, the III Inventio seeks to honor Portuguese music, the musicians, authors and composers who work so hard for the representation of our country.
VicenTuna – Tuna from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, TML – Tuna Médica e de Lisboa and EnfTuna – Tuna from the School of Health of Portalegre will be competing in this event.
The III Inventio starts on March 6 with the Serenade Night that will take place at the Vivo do Franciscanismo Museum, in the city of Ribeira Grande. Also in this night, the Fado Group of the University of the Azores will perform as a guest.
On the night of the festival, on March 7, with a presentation by Tia Maria do Nordeste and her husband, Carlos Mendes, the winner of the Song Festival in 1968 and 1972, and Pilar Silvestre, one of the best known voices will be present of the Azoreans.
The III Inventio will also feature the tunas of the University of the Azores: Tunídeos, Tuna Com elas, En’in Tuna and Estudantina Universitária dos Açores.
Tickets for the III Inventio can be purchased at the Bar of the University of the Azores (between 10 am and 3 pm), at the ticket office of the Coliseu Micaelense and at www.bol.pçt.
