In the year that marks the centenary of the birth of perhaps the most charismatic, irreverent and controversial Azorean woman of the 20th century, Coliseu Micaelense and Ponta Delgada City Council present the play "Eu, Natália" , by Maria Amélia da Costa Lopes, as a way of honoring the writer, poet, playwright, novelist, essayist and journalist, Natália de Oliveira Correia, highlighting her combative courage in the area of politics, namely integrating anti-fascist movements and, also, her assertiveness in defending freedom and women's rights.
Personality about which much has been said, but certainly much more remains to be said, he was a magnetic meeting point for the Portuguese and foreign intellectual elite of the 70s and 80s, in his "Botequim".
The love for the magical island, for the sacred, the intuition that accompanied it and chained it to beings from the mystical universe, the unspeakable, the premonitions and control of the forces of nature, all these factors are addressed in this piece, in an interconnection with current issues: the dictatorships, wars, environmental sustainability, the pandemic and the possibility of extraterrestrial life.
