Coliseu Micaelense, E.M., S.A.
With a career spanning 45 years in theater, António Capelo debuts his first monologue at Coliseu Micaelense.
For the author Zeferino Mota, the company’s resident playwright, Nobody is built by articulating António Capelo’s artistic career with multiple autobiographical voices of actors who, over the last 200 years, tell us about their concerns, the way they look and are looked at. and even the unavoidable stereotypes of the profession, such as the marginal status, intensity or bohemian image.
Like “those who live and sing in bad weather”, the show is structured as a confession that celebrates theater in troubled times, but also its enchanted memory, its traces of identity, its strength of resistance in a society in that everyone has the right to be Someone.
No one counts on the participation of a leading creative team that, wholly or partially, has found itself in the company’s projects over the last decade – Cátia Barros in Scenography and Costumes, Luís Troufa in Imagem and Mário Bessa in the design of Luz.
The soundtrack of Nobody is by renowned Brazilian musician Andre Abujamra, singer, songwriter and conductor who is nominated for the 2021 Latin Grammy as Best Rock or Alternative Music Album in Portuguese, with the work Emidoinã – Alma de Fogo.
