SYNOPSIS
Coral – The Gift & Coral de São José

On October 21st, The Gift will present CORAL accompanied by the Coral de São José, at Coliseu Micaelense.

The search for sound. We reach a certain point in life when the search for sounds to make records begins to be unproductive. Nothing fills us. It tells us nothing…. A new sound is a blank sheet of paper. It is from there that everything is designed.

Responses come from the stimuli we least expect. Like the film “The Great Beauty” by Paolo Sorrentino that begins with a choir of nine voices, which feed the daily lives of so many lives. As if the voices lead the soundtrack of what we do, of what we are…. And if the root of that sound we seek was the human being… The voice. The voices.

The blank sheet found. A choir on one side, or in the core of the sheet… The multiple voices give the form, the content, the message. The other voice, from Sónia above everything. The lyrics in Portuguese.

The voices that make melody, harmony and rhythm and that say words. carry and elevate the meaning of each sentence…

Life is made of contrasts, of right and wrong things, of good and bad moments, of days and nights… And after the velvet of the human part, the contrast… The roughness of electronics. Raw, rude, cruel.

The Choir was born from this meeting. From this blank sheet of paper that has always been the search for sound. The album came out without warning. It came out of us. We weren’t expecting it. Today’s musician has to follow instincts, but above all respect impulses. Nothing is organized with time. Things come out. Either they take advantage, or they don’t. This Choir’s tour is one of those moments. Unique, that leave us without warning… Our impulse, to do the right concerts, in the right places. It will be above all out of respect for what cannot be predicted, our impulses. Either you take advantage or you don’t. Behind the curtain of each theater and auditorium, a choir that fills the stage, and the Gift. Some clinging to the letters, others clinging to the rude electronics laboratory. Live choir is above all a celebration. Of life. From the impulse. That we are still here following what cannot be seen, our instinct.
