José Medeiros was born in Vila Franca, São Miguel, Acores, on December 9, 1951.
He is part of the group “Rosa dos Ventos” with which he records the album “Rimando contra a Mare” (1982) and “Alabote” (1985) followed by “Cinefilias et other uncertainties” (1999) “Torna Viagem” (2003) ” Fados, Fantasmas e Folias” (2010) , “Sorcerer’s Apprentice” (2015) and recently “A Dúvida Soberana” released this year.
In 2005, he received the Jose Afonso award for the CD “Torna Viagem”, making with him a great tour around the country, islands and diaspora.
During his career, he participated in record works by Dulce Pontes, Brigada Victor Jara, Joao Loio, Trigo Limpo, Viviane, Ala dos Namorados, Carlos do Carmo, Rui Veloso and Jorge Palma.
Musician and television director, he directed several tele-films and series for RTP-Açores, such as “Mau Tempo no Canal”, “Black Xailes” or “Gente Feliz com Lágrimas”. He staged several plays, being the author and co-author of the respective soundtracks and scripts.
The singer-songwriter brings us themes of good taste, delicacy and depth, where he recognizes his very own semantics, demonstrating once again all his aesthetics, diversity and complementarity of the arts.
A musical show in an intimate format, which celebrates, by crossing songs and chronicles, the more than 40 years of creative activity by Azorean musician, actor and director Zeca Medeiros.
This show is part of the Bairro da Música Festival, which has as a backdrop the celebrations of the World Music Day, celebrating national culture and promoting its circulation throughout the country. Between the 1st of October and the 5th of November 2021 Bairro da Música presents a Portuguese music festival with 10 artists, in 10 cities and concert halls.
